The Whitney Wyndham
The Whitney - A Wyndham Historic
Hotel is a Woodward Design+Build conversion project to turn an old Bank’s features into a Hotel, while still maintaining the “turn-of-century” feel to guests. The first floor of the Hotel, which was previously used as the Banking facility, was restored and converted into a mixed-use area, including a smaller yet functional Bank branch, as well as Hotel, Restaurant, and Kitchen facilities. Many of the existing elements of the old Bank remain a highlight of the hotel operation, including decorative teller cages utilized as the check-in / check-out areas, the Bank Board Room being converted into the Hotel’s library and seating area, and the Vault Room being converted into a private dining room complete with the massive vault and cage doors.
The upper floors, which house the guestrooms, meeting rooms, and exercise facilities, also retained much of the existing building’s original construction to preserve the historical aesthetics. Each room is unique unto itself, adding to the character and charm of the building.
