Trinity Episcopal Church

Woodward Design+Build had the unique opportunity to renovate one of New Orleans most prominent and historic churches. Trinity Episcopal Church on Jackson Avenue has stood the test of time for over 175 years. Thanks in part to quality construction and only the finest building materials, Woodward Design+Build has sent this church into the new millennium with more than just a new coat of paint. Severe termite and water damage over the years created quite a challenge for our crews to correct while the church was in use.

A 10,000 square foot scaffolding, called the “dance floor”, was constructed over the existing Nave to provide access for our crews to perform this tricky renovation. Work was conducted in phases over two years, which included a complete waterproofing of the exterior and gold leafing of the iron cross. Interior renovations included the installation of new “state-of-the-art” sound and lighting systems as well as new oak flooring for the Chancel area. The Woodward Millwork Group had the opportunity to really prove their worth on this project, matching ornate wood moldings to create a seamless finish.

Our thanks to Woodward Design+Build., for the outstanding job in the restoration of Trinity Church. Our deep appreciation for their cooperation and superior workmanship…
