The Volunteers of America’s latest initiative to provide affordable housing in post-Katrina New Orleans is The Terraces on Tulane. The Volunteers of America has long been active in supplying affordable housing to persons in need. The ambitious project will provide affordable housing for seniors in the area. The project consists of a 6 story, 200 unit apartment complex.

The project received a Vanguard Award in New Construction (larger than 100 units) from the National Affordable Housing Management Association. It was also presented a Tax Credit Excellence award in Senior Housing in the Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence award competition by the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition.
