Woodward served as the design-builder on a new space for Liberty’s Kitchen located within the ReFresh Project, a fresh food hub in Mid City New Orleans.
In order to meet the nonprofit’s budget, Woodward worked diligently to analyze all aspects of the space, achieving cost efficiency while meeting program needs. The Woodward team worked with new layouts, analyzed ceiling heights to reduce mechanical equipment needs, analyzed flooring types for cost efficiency and maintenance, and value engineered multiple aspects of the space. A combination commissary and retail kitchen was designed and installed, providing the organization with a high kitchen production capacity.
The new facilities have allowed Liberty’s Kitchen to expand its operations, doubling the number of at-risk youth it serves through culinary and life skills training.
