Dillard University Professional Schools Building

Woodward Design+Build enjoys a strong history at Dillard University from construction of the International Center for Economic Freedom to a campus wide restoration following Hurricane Katrina. As the restorations and improvements to this historic campus come to a close, Dillard could once again look to the future of the university with the planning and construction of their landmark new facility, The Proffesional Schools Building. Naturally, Dillard once again looked to Woodward for our experience on campus and excellent working relationship with the university administration, faculty, board and student body.
The new Professional Schools Building will be a 3 story, precast structure that will serve as a new 21st century gateway building for the university. The building will include classrooms, laboratories and offices for he business and science faculty and studetns. It will also include flexible auditoriums and public spaces that can be easily switched from single smaller use spaces for lectures and teachingto larger open spaces for special events. Nursing students will have a high tech teaching simulation lab fully mirroring a working hospital environment. Community outreach will include a health clinic, available community spaces, and a computer lab. The building is being designed to LEED Silver standards, and will be the first LEED certified building on a college campus in Louisiana.
