Hancock Bank - New Orleans CBD
The historic Maritime Building on the corner of Carondolet and Common in the New Orleans Central Business District is the setting for a new Hancock Bank branch. Hancock Bank Market President, Don Zornman was quoted on NOLA.com saying, “Labarre Architects and renovation contractor Woodward Design+Build worked to preserve the architectural integrity of the Maritime Building including salvaging an original granite floor for the Carondelet Street foyer and a marble archway for the associates’ break room”. The 14 foot ceilings and large windows were also worked into the branch’s design and layout. Although sealed off, a vault gate thought to be part of the original construction (1894) was discovered and is being refurbished for display at the branch.
