Federal City MarForRes Facility

Because of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Round, the Naval Reserve Forces Command moved to Norfolk, Va. Faced with the prospect of the closing of Naval Support Activity, state and local officials developed a new plan with the New Orleans Federal Allicance and HRI/ECC, LLC for a Federal City at this site. Woodward Design+Build was selected for Phase I, which includes the construction of a new facility for the Marine Forces Reserve.
Phase I includes the construction of a new 400,000 square foot, 4 story facility for the Marine Forces Reserve. The building will be the largest architectural tilt-up project in the Gulf Coast region and the largest ever for military end use. It will also allow for savings of both time and money.
On schedule and on budget was the central theme shared at the Federal City Media Day on December 4, 2009. Approximately 75-100 people joined the Federal City Team to view the progress of the Marine Forces Reserve Facility.
