Dillard University - Alexander Library

Once again, Woodward Design+Build was the contractor of choice for Dillard University. The existing Lawless Library was completely renovated and reconfigured to meet the demands of both the student body and faculty of Dillard. Some of these features included state-of-the-art lighting, exterior tree lighting, a new glass stair enclosure, removal of existing and installation of a new window wall on the building enclosure, a reworked HVAC system which required a rework of the first floor ceiling, multiple new computer stations in the Learning Commons, installation of a new book detections system, installation of a new “i ceiling system”, and a relocation/reconfiguration of the mechanical and elevator equipment in the penthouse.

Woodward’s extensive experience at Dillard University combined our expertise in historic renovation has once again allowed for a modern facility to coexist with the historic architecture of the campus.
