Bourbon Orleans Hotel

Located behind St. Louis Cathedral, the Bourbon Orleans Hotel is one of New Orleans’ oldest Hotels on Bourbon Street. While the main structure of the hotel was completed in 1965, Woodward Design+Build began a major renovation in July 2003, installing new fan coil units in each room, all new mechanical piping, and complete finish upgrades, including all new furnishings. Woodward also raised the ceiling height in the corridors and bathrooms by removing the mechanical, electrical, and sprinkler piping from the corridor and relocating these items into a small fur down above the bathroom vanity. The renovation also included all new high-speed internet and telephone wiring to each guest room and putting all new finishes along with repair work to the original wooden balcony in the Grand Ballroom. Two bars were added on the Orleans and St. Ann corners of the Hotel, with the existing bar converted into a coffee shop. The Annex Building, which originally housed the administrative offices, was converted into a large meeting room and reception facility. The offices were moved to the seventh floor. Finally, the exterior of the building received a fresh coat of paint.

Despite all the activity of a major renovation, the hotel remained in operation the entire time.
