Woodward’s commitment to excellence in construction was recognized by Engineering News Record Texas & Louisiana in their 2012 Best Projects Awards. Woodward brought home three awards that further demonstrate the firm’s leading role in the construction industry.
The Marine Corps Support Facility, New Orleans, was recognized as the Best Government/Public Building of 2012. This impressive 411,000 square foot facility was completed by Woodward in 2011 using tilt-up construction techniques. The project was notable for its use of tilt-up concrete in a prominent building, achieving a stately aesthetic ahead of schedule and under budget. Due to Woodward’s strong safety culture and an outstanding safety record, this project also won Best Safety Award for Texas & Louisiana.
Also recognized in this round of awards was the Blue Plate Artist Lofts, which won a Safety Award of Merit for its safety efforts throughout construction. This project featured the conversion of an iconic food production facility into live-work spaces for artists and was completed with zero accidents or incidents.
