Rise Up: New Orleans

We’re doing our part at Woodward Design+Build to help rebuild the greater New Orleans area, and a recent project that is especially close to our hearts was featured in a primetime documentary from the sports network ESPN.

Woodward Design+Build is part of the volunteer team that completed a massive facelift for both the weight room and locker room at Eleanor McMain Secondary School in New Orleans. The story of that inspiring transformation aired on Sept. 21, on “Rise Up: New Orleans,” an hour-long documentary that is part of ESPN Rise, the network’s initiative for high school athletics.

The New Orleans Saints, a long-time client of Woodward Design+Build, play a major role in the documentary as well. In fact, students from McMain’s football team spent time training with Saints players and coaches at the Super Bowl champions’ state-of-the-art facility in Metairie, which was built by Woodward Design+Build.

“Rise Up: New Orleans” is hosted by ESPN anchor and New Orleans native Stan Verrett. The McMain story will continue online on the ESPN Rise website with updates about the school’s athletes.
