Bike MS 2010 a Huge Success

Woodward's employees are committed to our community and if you were looking for one word to describe both Glen Whittaker and Wendy Carter, then certainly enthusiasm would seem to be an appropriate fit. Once again, Glen and Wendy both harnessed their enthusiasm by participating in the 2010 Bike MS event in October.

Wendy Carter, wife of Woodward Millwork Group’s Billy Carter, is a Bike MS veteran. This year, the MS Society presented Wendy with a bicycle pendant engraved with a “20” to represent her 20 years of service and particpation in the event. Each year Wendy both rides and volunteers on the event’s planning committee. That mean’s she has logged over 3,000 miles just riding in the event, countless miles training and many hours helping to plan the event. In addition, Billy also volunteers his time to the event as well. This year, Wendy’s team, Top This, raised over $9,000 towards the cause.

Woodward Superintendent Glen Whittaker can often be found on some of Woodward’s most important jobs like the 141st Readiness Center for the Louisiana National Guard or Mercedes-Benz of New Orleans. Currently, Glen is serving as the Superintendent of the new headquarters of Woodward Design+Build. While this project may be near and dear to his heart, community service is another aspect important to Glen. He once again participated in the Bike MS event riding with Team Phat & Cranky. Glen’s team raised over $11,000 this year!

Wendy and Glen are always looking for new members to join their teams, volunteer for planning/event day or to support their team. Consider riding with them in 2011 or helping their team’s raise money for reaserch for a cure for multiple sclerosis.
