As is often the case, many of the main contractors in the region turn to Woodward Steel Group for their expertise in steel erection. This project for the Academy of Sacred Heart involved the construction of a new gymnasium for the students that is 2 stories with a mezzanine for utilities. In addition, the new gymnasium connects to existing buildings via a covered walkway and pedestrian bridge. The scope of work for Woodward Steel Group involved structural steel, decking, 3 sets of stairs, the pedestrian bridge and louvres. Woodward Steel Group's achievements were to work in a very tight footprint on the site, starting their scope of work to help the contractor get back on schedule and setting the pedestrian bridge in a single day. the job totalled 259 tons of steel.
