Tulane University: Turchin Stadium
The new Turchin Stadium is a 5,000 seat, professional-style baseball stadium at Tulane University. Woodward Design+Build’s scope of work included site work as well as stadium construction. The project increased the number of chair back seats in the stadium from 900 to over 2,700 and added private suites, an open-air club suite, a partially covered seating area and a new press box. Four private suites flank the breezeway on the first base line and include air conditioning and restrooms. Suites are accessible via elevator, which also provide access to the new press box. An additional restroom facility was constructed between the stadium and Wilson Center. Woodward’s team brought this landmark facility to the campus of Tulane University for the 2008 baseball season.
Other projects for Tulane University include the Environmental Science Building, fast track restorations following Hurricane Katrina, Weatherhead Hall, the Primate Research Center Nursery Building, Flower Hall and the forthcoming Yulman Football Stadium.
