Woodward Employees Serving Their Community
19 October 2010
A big round of applauseis in order for two members of the Woodward family! On the weekend of October 2-3, the National MS Society held its annual Bike MS event in South Louisiana. Riders and teams rode a 2 day, 150 mile roundtrip ride to raise money for research into a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
Wendy Carter, wife of Woodward employee Billy Carter, just completed her 20th ride!! That works out to 3,000 miles of riding for the event alone. The MS Society presented Wendy with a bicycle pendant necklace engraved with“20“for her 20 years of volunteering on the planning committee. In addition, Billy donates his time every year to the cause. Wendy has raised $8265 so far and her team Top This is nearing the $10,000 mark! Wendy is truly making a difference in the lives of others!
Woodward Superintendent Glen Whittaker is also a long time rider with Team Phat&Cranky. Glen’s team raised over $11,000 this year! Great job Glen! His smile as he crosses the finish line says it all!
